Villa Maria Luisa Ischia

From Porto di Forio, to the left (next to the Bar "La Lucciola"), you’ll notice a small uphill foot walk (Via Di Lustro), leading to the centre of town. The climb finishes at an intersection with a church on the right (Via Regine). Continue straight on (Via Roma) for around 150 metres, then after the second curve, turn towards the first street on the right (Via Vecchia, no indications), and after about 20 metres on the right a green gate will open up to let you into Villa Marialuisa.

Exiting the Port of Forio, proceed on the right (Via Cristoforo Colombo), continuing on the road that runs along the coast. Pass the tunnel and then turn right to continue along Via Colombo. After around 1 km (and after passing the restaurant "Scogli degli Innamorati" on your right), take the first road on your left and proceed for about 800 metres (passing the church of San Vito on the left), then turn into Via Vecchia at the first street on the left. After about 20 metres, you’ll notice a green gate on the right with a sign indicating Villa Marialuisa.

From NAPLES CAPODICHINO airport, either of Naples’ two ports (Beverello and Mergellina) can be reached by taxi in 20-30 minutes, asking the taxi driver to apply the fixed rate for this specific route.  A bus line (the ANM ALIBUS) also serves the CENTRAL STATION and port of NAPOLI BEVERELLO directly, with regular runs every 30 minutes from 5:50 am to 11:30 pm.

Naples’ ports can be reached from three different stations:
NAPOLI CAMPI FLEGREI. The port of Mergellina is easily reached from this station by TAXI, bus, tram or subway. Mergellina is about 3 km from the train station.
NAPOLI MERGELLINA. This station is only around 200 metres from the port of Mergellina.
NAPOLI CENTRALE or NAPOLI PIAZZA GARIBALDI. Both these stations allow immediate access to Piazza Garibaldi, which is around 4 km from the port of NAPOLI Beverello, easily reachable by taxi, tram or bus.

BY CAR from ROME (A1) - from BARI (A16) - from SALERNO (A30)

Make your way to the port of NAPOLI "CALATA PORTA DI MASSA" (ferries, entry at "varco Pisacane"): DO NOT take the beltway, but instead follow the directions for the ZONA PORTUALE [PORT AREA] and after the exit proceed for the port, which is around 5 KM from the expressway.
ADVANTAGES: Better accessibility from the motorways (the heavy traffic on the beltway and city are thus avoided, since the turnoff leads directly to the port).
DISADVANTAGES: The trip is longer and more expensive; limited number of runs.

As an alternative, follow the directions for the TANGENZIALE [BELTWAY] and proceed for POZZUOLI, exit at VIA CAMPANA (exit no.12), then continue for the PORT OF POZZUOLI (ferries ONLY), which is around 4 KM from the beltway.
ADVANTAGES: Lower fare, shorter crossing, more runs.
DISADVANTAGES: The pier is more difficult to reach (it is necessary to take the beltway and go through the centre of town; heavy traffic means the journey can very well last over an hour).
